Adoption Information
Here at the Humane Society, every effort is made to place animals in good homes with responsible pet owners who are willing to make a lifelong commitment to the animal. The HSWC believes pet ownership is a privilege, not a right. Potential pet owners are counseled about the responsibilities of pet ownership before adoption. Because the key to reducing the number of unwanted animals is pet population control, each animal is spayed/neutered before adoption.
Adoption Fee for Adult Dogs - $95
$30 discount for dogs here over 30 days
$50 adoption fee for dogs here over 3 months
Adoption Fee for Puppies (6 mos & under) - $120
Adoption Fee for Adult Cats - $45
Adoption Fee for Kittens (6 mos & under) - $95
Your adopted cat, dog, puppy, or kitten will come with:
- Spaying or Neutering
- Initial Vaccinations and/or Rabies Vaccination Voucher
- Deworming
- Microchip
- Heartworm Screening for Dogs
- Leukemia Test for Cats
- 30 days of Free Pet Health Insurance from ShelterCare
Rules for Adoption:
1. A lifetime commitment must be made to the animal, and the animal must be kept as a family pet.
2. Must be19 years of age or older and have proper identification.
3. Must be able to prove that property management permits pets if renting or prove home ownership.
4. All animals will be altered (spayed or neutered) prior to adoption.
We won't knowingly adopt an animal to a person who:
- Has a documented history of animal abuse or neglect.
- Will use the animal for experimentation, cult rites, blood sports, or food purposes.
- Will allow a declawed cat to roam freely outside.
- Will confine a dog by a chain for extended periods of time.
- Has repeatedly violated animal control laws.
