Cat Room Renovations 2006

BEFORE

We started with a dark, poorly lit, hard-to-clean, uninviting room with no place for adopters to interact with our cats.

The cattery before

Staff and volunteers put together a plan to clean and brighten up the room and add a cat visitation room and cat community housing.

DURING

Our staff and volunteers rallied to the call for help. The project started when our staff temporarily relocated our cats to the conference room and moved out all the kennels and shelving. Sherwin Williams Paint in Round Rock was very generous and donated the epoxy paint for the floor. Volunteer Tracy Herring and staff Sandy Shannon expertly applied the new flooring.

Volunteer Erin Robison along with many others jumped in on cleaning and painting the dark wood walls, sealing the brick and ceiling.

Rachele DiTullio and her dad, Paul, and friend Ralph Tice built our cat visitation room and cat community housing area along with painting and cleaning.

   Rachele and Paul DiTullio

Kim Lutz, John Alligood and Tracy Herring were SUPER volunteers on the project. They installed all new lighting, framed and installed outside access door, custom built new stands with wheels for the stainless cat crates and painted and cleaned and on and on.

Tyler Remery and his Mom, Lanette jumped in to help with the painting. Then they convinced Dad to come out and reinstall the air conditioner in the room.

AFTER

No more dark wood, poor lighting and unfinished floors. Everything is on wheels to make cleaning easy. We have a cat community room and a cat visitation room!

Many, many thanks to all the volunteers and staff who contributed to the cat room renovation project. We couldn’t do it without you!
